How Do I Write?

Step # 1   Create the Strategy

  • When you contact me, I’ll send you a document I call the Discovery Questionnaire. This helps us clearly define the scope of the project giving us the best chance of success. I’ll send you this document by email in a Word Document format to complete and send back.
  • From here, I’ll prepare a Project Brief which I will send to you by email. This is designed to describe my interpretation of what’s needed, making sure we’re in agreement before we start.
  • We’ll then schedule a Launch call with you 3-10 days after the Discovery Questionnaire. During this call, we’ll discuss our Project Brief and any other ideas you might have.
  • After our phone call, I’ll draft an Agreement which I’ll send you. It’ll basically cover what I will deliver and when, and my fee for the project based on my quotation, and terms of payment. (Please note that I require 50% of the project fee before I begin.) I shall start working on your copy as soon as we have both signed the Agreement and I have received the deposit.

Step # 2   Create the Content

  • Research is essential to any copywriting project. I therefore go ahead with the research that I need to do, as it is how I understand your audience, which is fundamental to achieving great results.
  • Communication is critical to working on this project together. I’ll ask you the about how often you’d like to receive updates and the best way to contact you.
  • I then go ahead with the first draft which you will receive within 7-14 business days, depending on the scope of the project. Please review it carefully as it’s important we have the message, tone and offer correct.
  • Then I can do some revisions to fine-tune the details in a second draft, and a third draft if necessary. Once all revisions are completed, I will send you the final draft which I will ask you to approve by sending me an email stating you are satisfied with the project.

Step # 3   Complete the Project

  • When I receive your approval, I will invoice you for the remaining 50% of the project investment. The invoice is due upon receipt. While I will make every effort to respond to your request promptly, I kindly ask that you do the same with my invoice.
  • After the project is complete, I’ll provide you with a complimentary follow-up call where we’ll spend a few minutes discussing what went well and where improvements could be made.
